About us

Arubedo is a spin-out from the custom synthesis activities at OncoTargeting and Chemtronica, and also from research carried out at other companies and at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden.

All co-founders of the company have many years of experience from industrial and academic research, including custom synthesis of highly challenging compounds.

Our fully equipped chemistry laboratory is situated in Uppsala, Sweden. Staff-wise, we are a highly flexible organization; we have immediate access to a pool of highly skilled chemists, typically with 10+ years of post-graduate experience. At any given time, we are as many as the job requires.

The name

Arubedo is pronounced ə-ROO-bə-doh. We like the sound of it! 'Rubedo' (Latin: redness) is an old alchemical concept, defining the fourth and final major stage in the Magnum Opus — the transmutation of base metals into gold. Rubedo is thus synonymous with success and the end of great work, concepts we very much would like to be associated with. Finally, the 'A' in our logotype is derived from the alchemical symbol 'to macerate'.
